  2. The first Coachella was also in the dumps financially, acquiring a whopping $800k in debt

  3. Attendees weren’t allowed to pitch tents until 2003

  4. Rascal Flatts announced the death of Osama Bin Laden on stage at Coachella in 2011

  5. The city of Coachella only has 40k residents

  6. 90 people were arrested in 2013

  7. 2004 was the first year Coachella sold out, with Radiohead headlining

  8. In 2012, Coachella made a gross profit of over $47 million
