About Mark
My name is Mark Anthony Love Jr., and I am currently a junior at the University of Southern California majoring in Broadcast and Digital Journalism. Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, I transferred as a sophomore to take advantage of the opportunities that awaits in Los Angeles.
Previously, I have worked as a news reporter for Annenberg Television News and a writing contributor for the Neon Tommy. I love to inform the student body of the organizations on campus that work to mend some of the social, economical, and academic issues throughout USC and the world. At the same time, I’m intrigued with popular culture as well. I’m that guy that will write about the Super Bowl game itself, and then comment on Missy Elliott’s cameo at the halftime performance afterwards. I listen to HipHop and R&B music religiously, and have had J Cole's newest album on and off repeat for the past month. You can catch me listening to a catchy pop or rock song every blue moon. I’m actually listening to Grouplove as I’m typing. In the near future, I would like to work for a Hip Hop radio station or some sort of blogging company. I also would like to do some freelance work with popular culture magazines. Basically, if you can amalgamate Power 106, Complex Magazine, and CNN all into one job, I’ll drop everything else and head over!
Also, I’m pretty sure that food is my one true love, besides Alicia Keys. I came to USC to be a part of the Trojan Family, but I stayed for the food. From sushi and ramen in Little Tokyo to quesadillas and churros in Boyle Heights, I’ve visited many restaurants and food trucks throughout the city to get a taste each culture has to offer.
Overall, I am very excited to work with Trojan 360! This is the first time that I can voice my opinion AND get paid for it. It’s a pretty sweet deal. I can only hope that my fellow Trojans can enjoy and relate to the commentary that I post.
Fight on!
