Events You Can’t Miss Before The Semester Ends

As we inch towards the end of the semester there is so much to be done. Between exams, papers, projects, and even moving out for some students; enjoying LA and everything USC has to offer before the semester ends can be hard. To give you some events to put on your calendar; here are some events you must go to before the semester ends.

1. A conversation with Lester Holt

This Thursday evening renowned journalist Lester Holt will be visiting USC Annenberg. He is an American journalist who anchors the weekday edition of NBC Nightly News. He is also the anchor for Dateline NBC.
The discussion with Holt will take place this Thursday, November 16th at 6:00 pm in Wallis Annenberg Hall. USC Annenberg’s Rebecca Donatelli Expert-in-Residence in Political Analysis and Media.

2. Casa Barilla USC Village Opening


For all my food lovers here is the opportunity to get pasts for half the price. To celebrate their grand opening on November 27th Casa Barilla is offering one pasta per customer for $7.  Head to the USC Village, next to CAVA, from 11 am - 9 pm to try your favorite pasta dishes, pizzas, salads, and more!

3. Conquest!

Conquest is this Thursday! Conquest is USC’s annual pep rally, carnival, and concert as we celebrate the upcoming football game against. Head to McCarthy Quad when vendors and food trucks begin service. The rally will start promptly at 7:00 PM. If you plan on inviting your non-USC friends, make sure to register them as guests so they can stay on campus after 9:00 PM. You can do so here: https://visitor.usc.edu/visitorreg/PreRegister.aspx

4. USC Figure Skating’s Holiday Show & Skate

If you love the cold, this event is for you!

The USC Figure Skating Club is putting on a Holiday Show and Skate at LA Live! Their routine will start run from 3:30pm-4:30 pm. After the performance attendees are welcome to join the group on the ice from 5:00pm-7:00 pm.
General Admission tickets to skate are $20 and must be bought at the rink.

5. Fashion Recruiter Reception
Hey Fashionistas! USC’s Fashion Industry Association is hosting their annual Fashion Recruiter Reception! This is a great opportunity for those who want to break into the fashion industry to network with some of the top fashion companies to learn more about their internship and full-time opportunities. Per the group’s website,“ all majors are welcome and all are encouraged to come, as many companies are looking to fill a wide variety of positions. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to network with fashion industry professionals!”

This is also a great way to get involved with the group before the close of the semester and find potential summer internships.

6. John Cho and Viet Thanh Nguyen in Conversation
Join USC’s Visions and Voices for a conversation on race, representation, and the arts between actor John Cho and Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Viet Thanh Nguyen.
