The Butcher’s Daughter

Located in the smack middle boutique shopping scene of Venice, The Butcher’s Daughter Juice Bar and Cafe is the newbie on the block. The vegan friendly cafe is the ideal cafe to enjoy a brunch with friends and enjoy that California sunshine along the coast.

Just a fun fact to share with your friends while you’re brunching, the original The Butcher’s Daughter is based in New York. I first came across this brunch haven while I was catching up with some friends in the big apple. So if you’re ever in New York I definitely recommend checking out this little street corner nook, you’ll fall in love immediately.

Their brunch options are light yet hearty enough to get you energized to conquer the day. My personal favorite is the Smashed Avocado Toast. It is served on a 7-grain bread topped  with ripe avocado smashed with curry, mustard seeds, and a touch of lime and sea salt.

Additional brunch options include: The Best Kale Salad, Kale and Cabbage Cole Slaw, Greatful Veg Sandwich, Vegetable Charcuterie Board, Soaked Organic Muesli and The Butcher’s Burger. If you’re craving something sweet try the house-made vegan pear scones with sour berry jam.

Don’t forget to try one of their fresh juices to accompany your brunch THeir freshly made juice concoctions include: Stalks and Leaves, Goddess of Green, Rubies in the Dust, Water Flour, Golden Hour, Honey Bee, Hangover Killer, Mexican SUnrise and Eastern Promise. (Psst! Their cocktails are just as tasty! Maybe order both?)

Just a friendly reminder that if you plan on going for brunch, try to make it before 2:45p.m. before brunch ends. Also, you can opt for a paid parking area or you can park for free in the residential area a few blocks down.

Where to find it: 1205 Abbot Kinney Blvd, Venice, CA 90291

Poppy + Rose

Looking for something sweet and salty? Look no further Poppy and Rose is known for their mouth watering chicken and waffles. What’s better than that combo? The fact that Poppy and Rose serves breakfast all day!

[Insert crying emoji and heart eye emoji here!]

So don’t worry if you woke up late for brunch, you can still get your breakfast fix at Poppy and Rose.

Where to find it: 765 Wall St, Los Angeles, CA 90014

Amazebowls

If you haven’t heard already, then you heard it here first folks! Amazebowls is opening it’s first brick and mortar locations in the Arts DIstrict and at the Venice Boardwalk. So be the first to try this USC original food truck favorite at their soon to open locations.

If you’re new to amazebowls then I recommend trying the original amazebowl made with acai and topped with fresh seasonal fruit. If you want to try something new try the Dragon Ball Z bowl made with pitaya and add extra flavor with cacao nibs.

Ostrich Farm

One of the things I love even more than amazing food is amazing interior design. Ostrich farm is definitely one of those places to admire for it’s lean lines and minimalist design. It will have you snapping photos faster than you can take a seat at their contemporary tables.

I do recommend arriving early if possible to avoid the long lines. This place gets pretty packed on the weekends, but if you don’t mind the wait I recommend checking out the cool boutques nearby.

Where to find it: 1525 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90026

Blu Jam Cafe

ALL DAY BREAKFAST… Enough said. But no seriously this is a must-try for brunchers this weekend. From Novello Frittata to their signature Crunchy French Toast make sure to add this cafe to your list.

Where to find it: 7371 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90046

Greenleaf Chopshop Cafe

Green leaf is similar to The Butcher’s Daughter the fact they are on the same block but also their focus on serving wholesome and nutritious meals. Of course, Greenleaf is a Venice original compared to it’s new neighbor, nonetheless they are both equally delicious.

For brunch I recommend trying their Eggs Benedict, one order of egg is more than enough (trust me the portion is huge!). Unless you plan on sharing with friends than I’d definitely go for full order of eggs benedict. Another tasty brunch option is the Belgian waffle topped with fresh fruit and whipped cream.

Where to find it: 1239 Abbot Kinney Blv., Venice, CA 90291
