Things You Forgot Over Summer and Need to Remember NOW

By Kelly Kinas ‘17

With the second week of school just ending, hopefully we all should have gotten back into the swing of things from previous semesters. But those of you like me, I feel like I had a lot more knowledge about campus before I left for summer. When freshman come up to me and ask a question, I don’t automatically know the answer.

So I complied a list of things all of us could use some brushing up on because parents are always going to coming up to students and asking questions and we need to know these things, for them and our own personal benefit.

1. There is a Farmer’s Market on Wednesdays

Michelle Obama will proud of you going to this and eating healthy food. The Farmer’s Market is from 10-2pm on most Wednesdays and who couldn’t use a instagram of the blueberries and raspberries??

2. There are nice bathrooms on campus

The Campus Center has bathroom on every floor so if you have the time, go up to the 4th floor and have some privacy. Also if you’re in the Marshall side of campus, go to Popovich. They also have cafe so you can stop for a Jamba Juice afterwards.

3. KAP is a lot farther than you think

I give up halfway to KAP because, god damn, is that far. I usually forget that KAP is past the tennis courts. In my mind, it’s where GFS is and I’m constantly late to class.

Look over your class schedule. Go online and find USC Maps and make sure you understand where your classes are and not just the general direction they are in.

4. Gameday is CRAZY

Knowing you, you’re probably living next to the dude who plays the Fight Song at 6am on game day. I’m extremely excited for game day but I also really enjoy sleep.

Just accept now that you’re probably not getting a lot of sleep on game day because you are a TROJAN and you FIGHT ON for the necessary times.

5. How Amazing USC truly is

No matter how many people tell you about the Trojan Family or how amazing the academics are, there’s nothing like being on campus and back at USC. Be thankful to be back and get pumped for another great year.

Fight on!!
