8 Instagram Worthy Photo Ops in LA

By Samantha Romero ‘16

You’ve seen them in your feed posted by some of your favorite bloggers but now here’s your chance to grab some friends and roadtrip across the city to snap away at some of the most popular Instagram worthy photo locations.

Made in LA

There’s nothing that screams LA more than the “Made in LA,” wall located on Melrose. While you are there take a gander at all the cool vintage shops nearby. Also, make sure to try Alfred Coffee and take a snap of their wise words painted inside of their coffee house that reads, “But first, coffee.”

The Pink Wall

So much YES! What’s pink and bright all over? The infamous pink wall of course! It’s the ideal location to take those fun Instagram outfit photos or that perfect #squadgoals photo. Plus, the pink hues will surely brighten your Instagram feed with a pop of color.

Where to find it: 8221 Melrose Avenue, West Hollywood

The Broad Museum

The brilliant white architectural museum is a modern gem located in Downtown Los Angeles. It’s a must-visit for native Angelenos and visitors alike. It’s a two birds with one stone type of deal, not only can you capture the beauty of the architecture but you can also get that artsy “I went to the museum,” shot inside. Plus, don’t forget to visit the popular Infinity Room by Yayoi Kusama. For upcoming exhibits check out the museum’s website here.

Where to find it: 221 S Grand Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90012

Venice Canal Historic District

This is the perfect location to get that #RelationshipGoals photo with your loved one. Whether you take the photo above the wooden bridge or in one of the boats in the canal itself, it is 100% Instagram worthy. Go the extra mile and plan to spend the day in Venice.

Take a look at my brunch post for some tasty brunch options located in Venice at Abbot Kinney here.

After a nice brunch, take a stroll to see all the sweet boutiques and artisan crafts. You can also grab a savory icecream from Salt and Straw, they have some of the most flavorful icecream combinations like the Stumptown Coffee & Burnside Bourbon, Almond Brittle with Salted Ganache or the Arbequina Olive Oil to name a few! Once you’ve finsihed snapping and indulging in the #foodporn take time to unwind and take in the California sunshine at the nerby beach.

Where to find it: Carroll Ct & Eastern Canal Ct Venice, CA 90293

Hollywood Sign

You’ve seen it in countless movies, perhaps one of the most popular symbols of California, and less than an hour away from Downtown LA. It’s a definite #LALife kind of Instagram selfie. If you want to get up close and personal with the Hollywood sign you can plan a hike with friends. There are three different hiking routes to choose from: the Mt Hollywood Trail, the Canyon Blvd Trail, and the Cahuenga Peak Trail. The trails vary in difficulty, for more

information about the trails and moderation I recommend checking out the Hollywood SIgn’s website here.

Where to find it: Hollywood, CA 90068

Walt Disney Concert Hall

Take a walk through the outdoor hallways of the glimmering Walt Disney Concert Hall designed by the American architect Frank Gehry. The clean metallic lines will add architectural splendor to your feed.

Where to find it: 111 S Grand Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90012

Santa Monica Pier

Perhaps one of my all time favorites is the Santa Monica Pier, it’s definitely a classic for photo ops with friends. Not only can you enjoy a tanning day with your friends but you can also take a try at surfing! Santa Monica was the first place I ever tried surfing with my best friend. We took surfing lessons from a surfing instructor. I definitely recommend it! But if surfing isn’t your thing not to fret you can still enjoy dipping your feet in the cool waters. After your appetite builds up get a bite to eat on 3rd Street Promenade. However, you can’t leave without that sunset photo on the ferris wheel, it’s a must!

Where to find it: 200 Santa Monica Pier, Santa Monica, CA 90401

The Global Angel Wings Project Wall

Get your own pair of wings in the City of Angels at one of Colette Miller’s angel wings installations in DTLA. The message goes beyond an Instagram selfie. The Global Angel Wings Project was  created in 2012 “to remind humanity that we are the Angels of this Earth.” Definitely a lovely reminder to share on your Instagram feed.

Where to find it: St. Regis Wine & Liquor, 8401 West 3rd Street, Los Angeles
