4 Noise-Cancelling Headphones for Finals

By Judy Lee ‘17

They say noise-cancellation can completely change the way you listen to music. I say, it can completely change the way you don’t have to listen to the haters outside distractions while you’re studying. If you’re looking to invest in a pair of headphones, check these out!

Bose QuietComfort® 25

These are a hefty $300, but are considered the best technology on the market at the moment. They come in black and white as well as plugs adapted for iPhones and Android phones. They require a AAA battery change every 36 hours, but if you spread that out over time, it’s not too bad of a switching schedule.

Sony MDR-10RNC

These are slightly less expensive, but still $250. They’re smartphone compatible and have a 20-hour battery life. They will transmit lower fz very well and are said to produce a distinctly clear sound. Be warned, there are some issues with the cable that come up in colder temperatures (not that California would betray you like that).

Sony ZX770BN

At $229, these are slightly lower in price, and are wireless headphones! Although the battery life is closer to 12 hours (for obvious reasons), it features beat control that prevents sound distortion that might occur in some music. Lightweight, it is said to be excellent for travel.

Beats Studio

Starting at $299.95 and varying depending on design, Beats headphones are known for their design. Although performance-wise, not as up-to-par as the ones mentioned above, this is a worthy mention because of its sleek style and rechargeable battery. Durable, foldable, and also available in wireless.
