5 Outdoor Activities to Relieve Stress like an LAist

1.Paddle boarding

Paddle boarding is a great way to relieve stress while catching some sun at the beach. The best part is that there are nearby locations near Santa Monica Pier and Venice Beach.

2.Take a Yoga Class

Yoga helps you de-stress because it promotes relaxation through breathing and stretching exercises. Research which type of yoga suits you best. My favorite is Bikram yoga, basically yoga in a heated room. I love because it helps you detox while enjoying all of the benefits of relaxation.

3.Ride a Wave

Surfing requires complete focus, which makes it the perfect distraction from finals mayhem. If you haven’t tried it,  I highly recommend it. There are multiple surfing schools in nearby Santa Monica.

4.Bike Along the Beach

Enjoy the breeze running through your hair and a charming sunrise while biking along the beach.

5.Take a Hike

Hiking allows you to enjoy a peaceful environment. There are multiple hiking locations a little ways from downtown. One of my favorite hiking trails is Sturtevant Falls in Sierra Madre.
