5 Cafes to Study in DTLA
By Samantha Romero ‘16
1.Groundwork Coffee
One of my favorite local coffee houses, Groundwork Coffee makes you feel like you’re lounging in your own living room. My favorite drink is the chai latté with their very own homemade whipped cream. If you’re looking for an extra kick of caffeine ask for the “dirty chai.” For some powerfood try one of their salads or my personal favorite is the toasted ham and cheese croissant.
811 Traction Ave,
Los Angeles, CA 90013
2.Elabrew
A small dim nook in the bustle of DTLA, Elabrew is the place to get work done while filling up on your caffeine needs. They also serve delicious vegan donuts.
127 E 6th St,
Los Angeles, CA 90014
3.Tierra Mia
For the on-the-go student, try the Latin-inspired drinks from Tierra Mia Coffee on Spring St. The horchata latte and tres leches muffins are a flavorful twist to the basic latte and pastry.
653 S Spring St,
Los Angeles, CA 90014
4.Paper or Plastik Cafe
You will lose track of time when you enter the quaint and rustic family-owned cafe. Coffee isn’t their only specialty, they also serve teas, wines, and delicious treats like avocado toast. Unlike, other cafes Paper or Plastik is open until 10p.m. Woohoo! So go ahead and treat yourself.
5772 West Pico Boulevard,
Los Angeles, CA 90019
5.Coffee Colab
Bask in the sunny California rays while sipping on a craft espresso at Coffee Colab. The outdoor seating is ideal for a casual meet up with friends or catching up with emails.
