1. Radha Yoga

If you’re looking to de-stress and find your inner balance then this is the studio for you. I love Radha Yoga because it’s proximity to USC and it’s location next to Nature’s Brew, one of my favorite local cafes. The studio is also a place of tranquility with natural lighting from the multiple windows that allows fresh air to breeze on through the studio. It’s a definitely must-try experience even if you are new to yoga.

They offer a variety of yoga classes such as: vinyasa flow yoga, hatha yoga, kundalini yoga, restorative yoga and yin yoga. My personal favorite is hatha yoga because it combines the use of postures, breathing and mental focus. This type of yoga is especially beneficial in developing strength, flexibility, awareness, and a sense of well-being.

Address: 2316 S Union Ave #1, Los Angeles, CA 90007

2. YAS Fitness

Try a cycling class, it will change the way you think about cycling for fitness. The first time I went I was barely able to keep up with the class- mind you that I am a big supporter for living healthy and exercising regularly. Their cycling classes really focus on building your stamina and endurance. Of course, it’s also an amazing full body workout.

I also love that they have classes at nearly every hour of the day so you can schedule a class that best suits your schedule. Their classes also vary. For example, you can choose to do a full hour of yoga or you can choose to do a 30 minute class. That’s not all! They also offer yoga classes and combo of both yoga and cycling known as the Power 30 and Sweat 30.

Plus, the first-class special is only $13. So grab a friend and get ready to cycle!

3. Evoke Yoga

Where do I start? This place is everything you can ask for in a yoga studio. It’s extremely well managed, clean, and they have showers! I know the latter seems trivial but it’s the best thing ever especially if you have to head to work afterwards, of course you’d like to be squeaky clean.

Did I mention it’s located in the heart of DTLA! It’s the perfect little yoga getaway form the bustling city life. All the teachers are also very attentive during your practice and help you reach that extra milestone whether it’s perfecting a pose or learning how to use a yoga block correctly.

They offer a variety of both heated and non-heated yoga classes.  My personal favorite is the Sculpt Yoga, it’s the perfect combination of butt kicking components of yoga, barre, pilates and weight training, all while in a heated room of 95-100 degrees. Yes, it’s intense and perhaps challenging, but once you walk out of that class you leave feeling energized and empowered. Other yoga classes that are available include: E-Flow 1, E-Flow 2, E-Hot,E-xpress, Roll and Relax, Kundalini, E-Stretch, Buti, Core and Cardio, and Ashtanga.

If you’re a new student take advantage of their special package which includes two weeks of unlimited yoga for $25.

Address: 731 S Spring St #600, Los Angeles, CA 90014

4. City of Angels Boxing

If you’re looking for intensity then this is a must-try. City of Angels Boxing was the first studio where I tried boxing and I enjoyed every minute of it. The instructors will get you moving left to right with boxing combinations. The pumped up music also helps you get in the mood to spar.

It’s perfect for all levels. Most importantly you will feel the burn from this workout. I recommend challenging yourself and bring a friend along for your first class because it’s free if you’re a new student. They provide the hand wraps and boxing gloves as well.

Address: 3000 S. Hill St, Los Angeles, CA 90007

5. The Bridge Mind Body Movement

Located in the quaint neighborhood of the Los Angeles Arts District, is a peaceful pilates and yoga studio. From the outside, I never would have guessed this place was a large studio. The storefront appears small from the outside, but once you enter through the backdoor you find yourself at a large studio space where the classes take place. There is also a wafting scent of freshly burnt sage that fills the room, leaving you feeling relaxed.

They offer a variety of classes to choose from such as: pilates mat, pilates pulse, springboard mat pilates, vinyasa yoga, candle-lit evening flow yoga, root to rise yoga, buti yoga and dance it up. My personal favorite is the root to rise yoga that is scheduled at 7am. It’s the perfect way to ease into the activities you may have for the day.

Address: 1820 Industrial St #102b, Los Angeles, CA 90021
