Amazing #USCGrad pics from the Class of 2016

By Grace Carballo ‘17

I hate to brag but several of my peers have endorsed me in Social Media on LinkedIn and with that, I feel qualified to say that I have scoured Instagram and Facebook (and even briefly perused Twitter) for the very best and brightest #USCGrad photos. Last year the Class of 2015 set the bar high but like any good Trojan would, the class of 2016 grads rose to the challenge ambitiously, courageously, and skillfully.

It wasn’t easy but I have selected, in no particular order, the 16 best #USCGrad pictures to represent the legacy of the wonderful Class of 2016.  If you think you deserve to be on the list, submit your photos to Trojans360 and maybe also consider adjusting your privacy settings on social media to be a bit more lax.

For those interested in the method to my madness: the photos considered were all posted publicly on either Instagram or Facebook and those that I don’t follow/know personally used either some variation of  #USCGrad or the location tagged as “University of Southern California”. I looked for originality of pose, incorporation of campus beauty, wit of caption, and that indefinable “it factor” that some of us have and some of us don’t. (Also in retrospect after reviewing the list it’s possible anyone with a dog was immediately bumped to the top

Take a look at the Top 16 of 2016 and let us know what you think.

1) Higher Education

How they (and a photographer) summited VKC we may never know, but they certainly set the bar high for my class (2017).

2) #TrojansInLove

According to a tweet I saw, these two are both soon-to-be Viterbi graduates and each have amazing job offers. And honestly they could go into modeling on the side of their engineering careers if time allows.

3) “Diving into the real world!”

Pencil diving makes it even more academic!

4) Doheny Never Looked So Good

5) With a Minor in Group Photography

So rare to get a group photo with everyone’s eyes open!

6) #DogsofInstagram

If there’s one thing that chokes me up more than public displays of affection from proud parents or the elderly, it’s dogs supporting their people. This canine gets it and congrats to his human!

7) Everyday is Mother’s Day

A beautiful message for a beautiful occasion. Everyone go hug your mom(s) and tell them you love them.

8) SCurf’s Up

9) Extracurriculars!

My mom always told me when picking a college, remember 90% of your college experience is outside of the classroom.

10) Step Up

11) No Greater Honor

I’ve always wanted to get a picture with @uscpres and to be on his personal Instagram is truly beyond my wildest dreams. Congratulations on your graduation but more importantly, congrats on this ‘gram.

12) Window of Opportunity

Gratitude looks good on everyone, especially graduates.

13) Everyday is Game Day!

S’Confidence is key

14) All Good Things Must Come To An End

15) Severely Underrated Statue

According to my friend Elinor’s facebook, this thing is spinnable. Why doesn’t everyone take photos in front of this? Proud of these well-rounded grads!

16) Points for Poetry

This #USCGrad wrote a poem for the occasion (bottom right of photo) and his major is ISE so truly a jack of all trades!

Fight On Forever!

If you have any photos you’d like considered, don’t forget to #USCGrad, send them to Trojans360, or tag your location as “University of Southern California” on public Instagram photos. Although I’m very gifted at social media, even I can’t get past private accounts.

Congratulations to all and to all a sunny, not sweaty, graduation!
