dineL.A. Experience
By Emily Young MA ‘16
dineL.A. is a special dining event that takes place every
summer showcasing some of Los Angeles’ finest restaurants through a
selection of specially priced prix-fixe lunch and dinner menus. The restaurants highlight the diversity of culinary
experiences in Los Angeles with over 350 restaurants participating in dine.L.A.
I fortunately made it to Ushuaia Argentinean Steakhouse on the last day of dineL.A., July 26th. We showed up hungry and we left full and happy.
Uninvolved with the dinner planning, I
expected the prix-fixe menu to be the best deal. However, the entire menu was
well priced and I ended up settling for a meal not on the prix-fixe menu, the
mixed skewers (the picture that probably enticed you to click on this blog post
in the first place). And yes, it tasted
just as good, if not better than it looked.
Not even halfway through my plate I
could feel myself slowing down, but that didn’t stop me! I boxed up the steak and indulged in some
dessert. We asked about the most popular
dessert and as you can tell by the picture it was excellent.
The Dulce de Leche Crepes were so good there
wasn’t even a chance to take a picture before they were devoured. So go to Ushuaia and try them and check out all the other great dineL.A.
restaurants. You never need a reason to treat yourself to a nice meal!
