What to Watch this Valentine’s Day

Nothing says Netflix & Chill like Valentine’s day ’21 mid-pandemic. With restrictive local and state guidelines and (honestly) nowhere to go, the thought of recreating the festive atmosphere in your bubble can start to feel very claustrophobic. Without all the fancy shenanigans—candles, chocolates or violins (give me a break)—streaming platforms are gearing up for the long weekend with new releases, movie premieres and special episodes. There’s nothing quite like spending money that didn’t need to be spent, is there? Or being so proud of a purchase, only to find out it retails at a cheaper price in another location. When you’re in a new city, town or off to college (omg) things like this are bound to happen. Navigating a new place is hard enough without being stressed about money management or how much you don’t have. Thankfully, USC has loads of resources just for college kids to help you spend less—because I mean, who doesn’t like free stuff?

Game of Thrones

Yesterday was a particularly great day, not only because it was a Monday, but because Special Events Committee pulled some strings and got HBO to host a Game of Thrones prescreening. See that throne I’m sitting on, that’s the Iron Throne, the real one from the set. It wasn’t particularly comfortable but that’s what power feels like and I loved it. There’s really no turning back now.
