The Best Late-Night Sweet Treats Around USC

By Emma Wong

If you are anything like me, you are always looking for a place to get a late-night sweet treat. Los Angeles is known for its amazing food selection, and if you’ve got a sweet tooth, there’s no shortage of incredible dessert spots. Whether you're craving gelato, frozen yogurt, or something baked fresh, here’s a list of the best places to satisfy your dessert cravings when the sun goes down.

1. Bacio di Latte

Where to find it: Brentwood, Century City and Larchmont

If you're in the mood for authentic Italian gelato, Bacio di Latte is a must. Known for its smooth texture and rich flavors, this spot offers fresh gelato made from organic milk, organic cream and the freshest fruit for their sorbet. Their late-night hours make it a perfect place for a creamy treat after a night out. Don’t miss their Stracciatella or Pistachio flavors!

2. Chip Cookies

Where to find it: Culver City

For cookie lovers craving freshly baked treats late at night, Chip Cookies is the ultimate go-to. One of the best things about Chip Cookies is their Flavor of the Week. Each week, they rotate in a new, limited-time flavor, giving customers a fun reason to keep coming back. Chip Cookies also has an amazing toppings bar, where you can customize your cookie order with a variety of extras.

3. Go Greek Yogurt

Where to find it: Beverly Hills, Santa Monica and Pacific Palisades

For those who prefer a healthier dessert option, Go Greek serves authentic Greek yogurt with a twist. You can have it frozen or classic, and it's perfect for creating a refreshing dessert. Choose from their variety of toppings like fresh fruit, nuts, or honey. It's light yet satisfying, making it ideal for a post-dinner dessert.

4. Levain Bakery

Where to find it: Larchmont

From New York to LA, Levain Bakery is a fan favorite loved for their massive, gooey cookies. Known for being incredibly thick and satisfying, these cookies are baked fresh daily. Popular options include the Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip or their classic Chocolate Chip Walnut.

5. Oakobing

Where to find it: Koreatown

If you're in Koreatown and craving something different, Oakobing specializes in Korean-style shaved ice, or bingsu. Their desserts are visually stunning and topped with fresh fruits, condensed milk, and red beans. Try the Mango Bingsu for a refreshing and light dessert, perfect for cooling down after a hot day.

6. Salt & Straw

Where to find it: Multiple locations including Culver City, Larchmont and Little Tokyo

Salt & Straw is famous for its unique and creative ice cream flavors, and it's open late for those spontaneous ice cream runs. Their menu changes seasonally, but you can always count on standout flavors like Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons or the indulgent Chocolate Gooey Brownie.

7. Sprinkles Cupcakes

Where to find it: Multiple locations including Downtown, the Grove and USC Bookstore ATM

For cupcake enthusiasts, Sprinkles has earned a reputation as one of LA’s premier bakeries. The USC Bookstore is home to their iconic Cupcake ATM, perfect for grabbing a sweet treat after hours. Flavors range from Red Velvet to Salted Caramel, and with vegan and gluten-free options, there’s something for everyone.

8. The Big Chill

Where to find it: Westwood

A Westwood staple, The Big Chill is the place to go for frozen yogurt lovers. Known for its nostalgic charm and endless toppings, this late-night spot offers low-fat and non-fat options, along with vegan flavors. I personally recommend trying their cookie dough topping. You won’t regret it!
