As midterms approach Trojans 360 has got you covered. Here is a curated list of the top 8 cafes to study in Downtown Los Angeles and help you power through midterm frenzy.

1.Classic Coffee

A combination of minimal and industrial, Classic Coffee is the ideal place to study when you’re looking for a clutter free space. I also love the large glass windows that allow the perfect amount of natural light. Another plus is the free wifi and yes, power outlets!

2.Daily Dose Cafe

Nestled in the heart of the Arts District, this cafe is a safe haven from the bustling Los Angeles city life. You will find yourself overcome by a sense of tranquility as you enter the quaint brick alley adorned by plants and decorative lights strung across the exterior. It’s the small details like the wooden tables and genuine customer service that give this cafe a rustic and homey appeal thus creating a perfect environment to focus. However, there are no outlets so I would recommend charging up beforehand.

3.Verve Coffee Roasters


Located on the corner of 9th and Spring, this little gem has a natural aesthetic. It’s exterior walls are adorned by plants and succulents, perfect for that Instagram photo-op during your study break. They’re also known for their freshly served juices perfect for that midterm pick me up.

4.Caffe Primo

If you love the full fledge city bustle then this is the place to be. You can enjoy a nice cup of joe while taking in the views of the towering skyscrapers above.

5.Intelligentsia

Located on Sunset Blvd., this cafe is easy to spot with it’s bright red-orange exterior bustling with customers. Plus there are plenty of boutique stores and art work from local artists to explore nearby.

6.Blue Bottle Coffee

The Oakland, Brooklyn and LA-based cafe is a definite hub for creatives looking for a space to work. The minimalistic interior is a compliment to it’s industrial backdrop within the arts district. They are known for their specialty roasts and appetizing pastries like the almond croissant.

7. Kaldi

Okay so this one is located in South Pasadena a little ways from LA but a must-see nonetheless. There’s such a welcoming ambiance the moment you open the wooden door entrance to the creaking wood floors. You can also enjoy the display of artwork by local artists lining the interior brick walls. They also hosts music events during the South Pasadena Art Walk.

8.Urth Café

This cafe is a must, given it’s extended opening hours compared to the other cafes. You can choose to study inside or enjoy the industrial architecture in the outdoor patio. I also recommend ordering the Spanish Latté if you’re looking for that extra kick of energy while studying.
