USC Village: Open Now!

 By Amy Wang ‘21

The USC Village has become a prime location for students looking for a new place to eat after class or to shop for necessities to get them through the week. With outdoor tables that provide visitors a place to sit in the shade under the red umbrellas and a variety of restaurants and shops already opened and opening soon, the Village is a great addition to the USC community.

Trader Joe’s

Looking for some fresh fruit or late night snacks? The Village’s Trader Joe’s was one of the first stores to open in the Village earlier on this year. Many students utilize this store to purchase fresh produce, snacks, and even plants for their rooms! As for snacks, many students enjoy their Crispy Crunchy Chocolate Chip Cookies, White Truffle Potato Chips, and Scandinavian Swimmers gummy snacks that pair well with a movie night with friends.

Target

The new Target Express provides students with instant access to necessities such as basic clothing, school supplies, and various foods and snacks. Unfortunately, since this Target is just an express store, they do not offer DVDs, music, or such as that. Nevertheless, the store offers students an easily accessible place to purchase skin care products, household items, and vitamins.

The Baked Bear

The Baked Bear opened just a few weeks ago, offering students with fun desserts that combine ice cream with freshly baked cookies to create an enjoyable sandwich for anyone who loves sweets. If you’re looking to try a new flavor, Bear Batter, their specialty flavor is definitely worth a try. The shop also offers monthly cookies, so make sure to keep an eye out for those!

Greenleaf Gourmet Chopshop

The Greenleaf Chopshop offers a variety of menu items that include sandwiches, pizzas, salads, burgers, and entrees. The cozy yet aesthetic atmosphere allows for the restaurant to be a great location for a casual date-night, or for a dinner out with your suitemates. While the prices are not the most affordable for our broke college student selves, Greenleaf Chopshop is still the perfect restaurant to visit for an occasional, treat yourself kind of night.

SunLife Organics

SunLife Organics offers students a variety of fresh smoothies, shakes, bowls, juices, and more. This shop would be a great place to visit after a workout at the Village gym, or simply for a healthy morning breakfast.

CAVA

CAVA is another great place to get healthy foods in the Village. Serving the traditional flavors from Greek and Mediterranean culture in a modern style, CAVA provides students with the ability to create their own bowls, salads, and pitas.

Starbucks

As one of the four Starbucks locations on campus, this location offers students another study spot, or just a nice place to meet up with friends between classes for a quick coffee break. Unfortunately, the Village Starbucks does not accept dining dollars, but it does accept mobile orders through the official Starbucks app.

FedEx Office

FedEx offers a easy way for USC students and visitors to send out packages and print items of various sizes. Village housing occupants use this FedEx often to pick up their packages, so if you’re picking up a package, make sure to try to visit during later hours in the night before closing for shorter lines.

Amazon Locker (Amazon@USCVillage)

This Amazon Locker provides students with a quick and easy way to pick up online orders. Certain products can even be delivered to this locker the same day! If you happen to be passing by, keep an eye out for their “free samples.” In the past, they’ve given out free snacks, waters, and even mini flashlights.

Other recently opened stores include the USC Roski Eye Institute Optical Services and CorePower Yoga.
