USC: What Graduate Students Want

In undergrad, students care most about social events, partying and are all about school spirit.

Graduate school comes around and students tend to leave a life partying, sleeping, lollygagging for a life of sleepless nights studying; consuming and producing rigorous work. In other words, “Ain’t nobody got time for that.”

It’s hard to determine what graduate students care about most, but below are a list of possible interests:

Thus, USC’s Graduate Student Government created “Magic Wand Items” to pinpoint graduate student concerns.

Magic Wand Items Include:

Financial Aid & Tuition: most specifically, more information on scholarships and TA positions.

More Parking

image

More and better housing for grad students

image

More options and better choices for food.

Free Food

image

More social and cultural events with other graduate students outside their programs (student integration).

GSG’s next event is the annual food drive. Starting November 1st, You can deliver canned and packaged foods to the GSG office in TCC 224.
