Introducing USC’s Finest Artists
By: Ellice Ellis ‘20
Hello there!
If you’ve read my posts, you probably know that I LOVE music! It’s what gets me out of bed, gets me through the day, and puts me to sleep.
In honor of my favorite pastime, I’ve put together a playlist of some of my favorite songs by USC artists. From Ayoni, a genreless singer to the very famous BANKS, creative talent bred at USC reaches across many genres! ½ of the famed Louis The Child even went to USC for one year!
Check out the playlist here!
And if you’re interested in seeing some of these artists in person, I’ve outlined a few events throughout March where you can witness the talent USC breeds.
1. Gearfest
Saturday, March 7th was Gearfest on McCarthy Quad. Hosted by USC’s Cre-Ex, a group of Black creatives on campus, the festival aims to highlight black student artists at USC. Performers on Saturday included rapper Kabwasa and singers Jairus, Ayoni, and Vietta… all USC students! Visit @usccreativeexperience on Instagram for more information.
2. Thornton Popular Music Showcases
Thornton definitely has talent! Throughout March, the school will showcase talent from their Popular music program! The first-year showcase takes place on March 4th, the second-year showcase on March 6th, and the senior showcase is on March 13th. For specific details on each show, click here.
Stay tuned for more music-related content!
