Come With Me to Hecho in LA
By: Amy Argueta ‘24 (USC Student Life Guest Blogger)
This past Saturday the USC Latine Student Assembly organized Hecho in LA, an event meant to celebrate Latine culture through food, music, and artists. In McCarthy Quad, various Latine owned student and non-student vendors sold art, clothes, jewelry, and more. Various stalls also sold food from all over Latin America from Mexico to Peru to El Salvador.
Come With Me to LNSC!
By: Amy Argueta ‘24 (Guest Blogger)
Did you know that Late Night SC’ (LNSC) hosts a series of free events that are held every month and are open to all USC students? Some past events this semester have included Paint Night, Self Care Night, and a Gardening Tea-Party event. Honestly, I don’t take advantage of these free events enough, but this semester I decided to change that and went to a few LNSC events to see what they were like. If you want to learn more about my experience attending these events then keep reading!
Life Lessons from Jameela Jamil’s Talk at USC
By: Antonia Le ‘22
On October 28, actress and activist Jameela Jamil came to USC and spoke at Bovard Auditorium in a discussion moderated by Dr. Stacy Smith, of USC’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. Jamil’s talk at USC was sponsored by USC’s very own SAGE (Student Assembly for Gender Empowerment), working with USG, USC Speakers Committee, ISA, and SCIA. During the event, Jamil spoke about self-love, being an activist, and staying strong in the face of criticism and adversity. If you had to miss the event, here are some bits of wisdom from Jamil that should be heard by everyone.
Getting Inspired at USC SCAPE’s InspirASIAN Event

It’s not even a real scientific law! However, as an intern for USC’s Student Coalition for Asian Pacific Empowerment (SCAPE), I witnessed the effects of Murphy’s Law firsthand. On Thursday, February 28th, SCAPE put on its signature event, inspirASIAN. As part of my intern duties, I had to help the executive board make sure that everything went according to plan (spoiler alert! It did not.). Yet, as I think back on that exhausting Thursday night, what sticks out to me the most is that fact that despite all the bumps along the way, the SCAPE E-board ended up putting together something pretty great.
