Come With Me to LNSC!
By: Amy Argueta’ 24 (Guest Blogger)
Did you know that Late Night SC’ (LNSC) hosts a series of free events that are held every month and are open to all USC students? Some past events this semester have included Paint Night, Self Care Night, and a Gardening Tea-Party event. Honestly, I don’t take advantage of these free events enough, but this semester I decided to change that and went to a few LNSC events to see what they were like. If you want to learn more about my experience attending these events then keep reading!
Gardening Tea-Party
The first event that I attended was the LNSC Gardening Tea-Party; there, students got to create their own DIY succulent planters with materials and free snacks all provided. The event ran from 8-10PM and I got there at 8:30PM, so unfortunately all the succulents and pots ran out. If you plan to go to these events, get there early! It still looked like a really fun event with groups of people were scattered around tables painting their own pots and planting into them. If you want to see a video of what the event looked like, USC Student Life posted a TikTok of it here!
Self Care Night
The next event I attended was the LNSC Self Care Night. This time, I learned from my mistake and got there right before the event started at 8PM! The event was packed and right upon entering there there were snacks, a whole table filled with a variety of face masks, and even some cute little glass jars with DIY brown sugar lip scrubs. They also had coloring pages with crayons and markers so students could just draw the whole evening with friends. Overall, it was a relaxing event and a nice break from homework. I also got to grab a free lip scrub and green tea face mask. If you want to see how this event turned out, here's another TikTok posted by USC Student Life here!
Tie Day Event
The last event that I went to was a Tie Dye Event. This one was super popular and even before the event started there was a long line of people waiting for the doors to open. Once it finally hit 8PM, people poured in to start tie dyeing. There was a small table with drinks and next to it a long table with a mountain of white socks and beanies that you could choose from. I chose the socks and tied them up with the rubber bands they provided. The staff there helped soak the clothing in water, then people grabbed some trays and gloves, and gathered around a table filled with little bottles of dye to start decorating their beanies or socks. Pictured above are blue socks that I dyed and an orange beanie that my friend made.
Overall, these events were really fun and worth going to if you just want something to do with friends. I would recommend attending at least one during your time at USC!
