Trader Joe’s Hacks: Breakfast!

By Danielle Collins ‘20

“Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.” We’ve all heard this since we were probably 5 years old. And yet, college students still run out the door in the morning on an empty stomach.

It’s easy to forget about breakfast when you’re in a rush to get to class. But breakfast is not only important, it’s also the best type of food (in my opinion). So, here are some quick, easy, and healthy breakfast choices from Trader Joe’s to help you start your day off right!

This Trader Joe’s oatmeal comes in individual packets, so just pour, add water, microwave, and enjoy! There are lots of flavors but this is my favorite. Find it near the cereal and granola at the front of the store.

These cinnamon raisin bagels are delicious, and healthy as far as bagels go! You do have to slice them yourself, but it’s worth it. Pop them in the toaster, slap some cream cheese or butter on top, and voila! Find it with the rest of the bread.

Another quick microwaveable meal! Keep it frozen, and then save half for another day because it’s quite filling. Find it in the frozen section.

No cooking required for this one, just some slicing and spreading! This is an easy way to get some fruit, protein, and carbs all in one meal. Pro tip: just use one slice of bread and eat it like toast to cut calories! Find the peanut butter near the spices.

Feel free to sip tea with this one! English muffins are quick to toast, and can be eaten with some butter and jam (like above), or with an egg on top. Find them with the bread.

This is my favorite way to eat eggs! Toast a slice of bread, and fry your egg while it’s toasting. Sprinkle some lite cheese on top for taste and calcium! Pro tip: buy an egg pan, and your eggs will come out the perfect shape and size like above!

Try to set your alarm just a few minutes earlier to give yourself time to eat a quick bite before running out the door. You’ll be much more focused and have more energy throughout the day if you do. And with great options at Trader Joe’s, it’s easy to eat a healthy breakfast in the morning. Enjoy!
