Health & Fitness Apps You Must Try

1. Charity Miles

Open app, run, donate to charity free of charge to you—simple as that. The way it works is that big companies sponsor everyone using the app and donates on your behalf given that you run/walk/cycle for it. Although you’re not going to get much per run (more or less $0.31/mi), it will really add up over time and will benefit a long list of charities of your choice! A great way to better yourself and better the world at the same time. Personally, I ended up motivating myself better by setting a donation goal (ex: $20 to Pencils of Promise) and then running to achieve it (60 mi that I run over the course of a month) than counting miles.

2. Zombies, Run!

If philanthropy while suffering isn’t quite your thing, try Zombies, Run! It’s extremely popular now and is an app that will narrate how you fare in the impending zombie apocalypse based on how you run. Become your own character and navigate the world from anywhere you run! Comes in seasons, so it’ll be like an immersive fitness Netflix series!

3. SworkIt

No gym? No problem. Sworkit will find workouts for you to do and time you accordingly. Only have five minutes? No problem. Creating anywhere from five minutes to an hour of workout, you can take this anywhere.

4. PumpUp

Not everyone on Instagram is particularly interested in your gains, #beastmode, and #fitspo. PumpUp is a community where you can inspire and be inspired by others in an Instagram-style layout. Motivate yourself with others, socially!

5. HealthyOut

Don’t want to be that annoying healthy friend who has to scour Yelp for healthy locations and menus? Worry no more! HealthyOut is designed to take whatever preferences you set (gluten-free, under 600 calorie meal, etc) and search the nearest food locations for you—even suggesting healthy options on the menu that you could eat.
