The Culture of Sex - It’s Never Perfect
High school health class often serves as a crucible for adolescent hormones, as teens find themselves seated alongside one another, grappling with notions of sex, intimacy, and relationships. My own upbringing in a deeply Catholic environment meant that my teacher approached the subject with caution, emphasizing that sex was to be approached with solemnity and reserved for a context of maturity or marriage. It was framed as a sacred act, laden with moral implications.
Sleep App: Yay or Nay?

Sleep is a love-hate relationship for a lot of people–especially college students. Whether it’s that quick nap in your dorm before class starts freshman year or…that quick nap in your car before class starts senior year, sleep is a necessity for everyone. Now, being the quintessential college student in that I average maybe 4-6 good hours of sleep a night, I decided that perhaps I should work on that seeing as I’ll have to adult sooner or later. I’m just gonna put this out there: I really really love naps!! In fact, I took a glorious three 3 hour nap today. A lot of my friends are in full agreement that power naps, no matter how long or short, are better than not having naps at all. So I did some research on the topic of naps and found that not only are they good for your mental alertness but also your overall health.

10 Things You Must Do On Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is this weekend and I will be spending it alone this year. I have no issue with it, as I don’t believe v-day is synonymous to S.A.D (single awareness day). Like every major holiday, it is not defined by the man or woman you wake up and go to bed thinking of, but instead being in the company of people you love.
Take a Hike

Help Your Studying -- With Puppies!

Studying for finals can be difficult and while it is necessary, sometimes some small dogs can be ever more helpful. Every semester, USC and USG help sponsor an event where study snacks are a plenty and there are puppies to stroke. Outside the Leavey library on Thursday December 4th, Friday December 5th, and Monday December 8th, the University sponsored this exact activity, which definitely did brighten my day.
