While word all over campus this weekend was about USC Football upsetting #3 Utah, there’s another USC team students should be talking about, Women’s Volleyball.  As of this weekend, USC Women’s Volleyball is the only undefeated volleyball team in the nation.

“It’s fun being the only undefeated team in the country, but records don’t matter at the end of the season,” shared USC outside hitter, Samantha Bricio.  “What matters is winning the last six games of the NCAA Tournament, but we are taking it one game at a time.”

This week the teams enters the second round of Pac-12 heading up to Washington to take on the Huskies and Cougars for the second time, on their turf.  Washington is one of the toughest schools to play at, and both seniors, Alicia Ogoms and Samantha Bricio, have never won there.

Middle hitter Alicia Ogoms shared, “We’ve won at every venue except Washington.  Winning there my senior year, would be soo sweet.”  The last time USC Women’s Volleyball won at Washington was during my freshman year in 2011.  Before 2011, USC had not won at Washington since 2003.

I think everyone on campus would agree, that USC owes one to the Huskies.  Girls, help the football team out and take it to them this weekend! Go Trojans!!
