5 Places You Must See In London
By Judy Lee ‘17
The London Eye, Big Ben, Tower Bridge—all of them are beautiful. However, there are some places that are breathtaking and require a little more digging. Here are five!
1. Oxford Street
Okay, this is pretty popular. However, this doesn’t mitigate the fact that it is absolutely breathtaking upon first sight. It is a street full of beautiful architecture and a multitude modern shops to choose from.
2. Leadenhall Market
Another beautiful place to find shops of all sorts and cute restaurants. The red and gold architecture is enough to make a Trojan feel at home yet so, so far away at the same time.
3. Soho Secret Tearoom
When in London, do as the Londoners do and have high tea! This is the place your Instagram needs. Why is it a secret? Because it is actually in the attic of a pub called Coaches and Horses. Walk up to the bar and ask for the tea room and be escorted up! However, bear in mind that there is very limited seating, so reservations are a must.
4. Sky Garden
One of the high points in London
that will steal your breath away. With a 360 view and a garden 35 floors above
the ground, it is a place of stunning architecture and sights. This also
requires a reservation, but is absolutely free of charge!
5. Emirates Airlines
These air cabins are only a few pounds more on your Oyster travel pass—very cheap for the amazing sights you will see floating hundreds of feet above the city. A 10 minute ride is perfect for admiring the view and taking a couple pictures of your adventure to boot!
